Question: What is the best way to fix a paper jam?

Answer:

Most jamming problems that require a service technician and or parts are caused by the printer operator not removing jammed paper correctly. The correct procedure for removing a jammed paper is to slowly pull it in the direction that the printer would normally feed the paper. Removing paper in the reverse direction of the normal paper feed path direction will almost always break printer parts.

If clearing the jammed paper does not fix the problem, try one of the following.

  1. Remove existing paper and gently fan the paper, or replace with fresh paper and make efforts to squarely re-stack paper flat in tray or multipurpose feeder. Also ensure that both paper side and rear paper guides are snug and in correct size positions.
  2. Check for and remove any obstructions such as a small piece of paper or label stuck in the paper path that might be causing subsequent paper to jams.

Just wanted to take a quick moment and let you know what a great operation you have going over there. Dominion Wealth Management, Inc. couldn't be more pleased with the two products we purchased from you (the mfp 4345 and the hp 3000 laserjet) and the continued service you and your team have provided.
